2008 DDA Annual Conference

We are pleased to announce that the 2008 Delaware Dietetic Association Annual Meeting, “Bringing Dietetics and Nutrition in Central Focus,” will be held Wednesday, May 21st from 8am to 4pm at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover , Delaware . 

We have an exciting lineup this year, with the opportunity for 6 or more continuing education credits!  Speakers and events include:

**Terry Etherton, PhD, Department Head and Distinguished Professor of Animal Nutrition  at Penn State University :  “rbST-Free Milk Labeling – A Story of Smoke and Mirrors.”

**Sue Snider, PhD,   University of Delaware Cooperative Extension :  “The impact of Food Allergies on the Food Industry.”

**Nancy Rodriguez, PhD, RD:  “Family Meals in a Fast-Paced World.”

**Christine Karpinski, RD, of The Nutrition Edge:  “Nutrition and the Athlete:  Strategies for Success.”

** Kathy Stroh , MS , RD, CDE:  Dietary Interventions for the Prevention of Type II Diabetes.”

**Ida Lawson from Delaware WIC:  An update on breastfeeding promotion.

**Maryann Eastep, RD:  A panel discussion of key aspects of breaking into business/private practice.

**Patricia Beebe, Director of the Food Bank of DE:  Tips on grant writing.

**A culinary demonstration by one of the top chefs at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.

We have a fantastic list of exhibitors this year as well, so be sure to check them out while at the conference.  Add great raffle prizes, a silent auction, and delicious food prepared for us by the superb staff at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, and this is sure to be a truly incredible event!
